Summary

Non-free media information and use rationale true for IBM AIX
Description

An image of the default login banner of AIX 5.3

Source

Self-created, obtained by logging into an AIX system

Article

IBM AIX

Portion used

A trivial amount of copyrighted material is used - specifically the star box design and the text within it. This is an immeasurably tiny part of the entire AIX 5.3 work - less than one five-hundred-thousandth of the entire operating system by byte count. It is doubtful whether this trivial text even meets the Threshold of Originality requirement for being copyrightable in the first place.

Low resolution?

Resolution is not a factor for this image - AIX does not produce the image directly at any resolution.

Purpose of use

To demonstrate the look and feel of the AIX operating system

Replaceable?

No replacement could meet this task without also displaying elements of the AIX operating system

Other information

My copyright claim to this image, as its author, is probably stronger than IBM's claim as the author of the AIX system depicted. (Both claims are trivial though). For the avoidance of doubt, I disclaim any copyright ownership of this image and place it in the public domain to the extent that I am able. The law does not concern itself with trifles anyway, and certain Wikipedia admins need to learn what "de minimis" means.
