English: A slice of homemade confetti cake. The cake is made by mixing rainbow sprinkles into the batter, and when the cake is baked, they melt and leave behind tiny, brightly colored spots in the finished cake. I found that "natural" sprinkles fade in color, while the cheap, waxy ones retain their color after baking, as the synthetic food colorants seem to be stable at higher temperatures. |
