"Ideado por GERÓNIMO GIL OTÁLORA, elaborador el profesor del Colegio de Boyacá, Lic. CARLOS ARTURO RODRIGUEZ y aprobado mediante el acuerdo del Consejo Municipal N° 005 de 1.983. Está compuesto por una almena de tres torres y tres cuarteles; en el primero se ubica la silueta de la iglesia, el segundo contienen espigas y palomas que representan las labranzas y el apodo “los palomos” y en el inferior hay una rueda de bicicleta en homenaje al campeón Rafael Antonio Niño y unas manos entrelazadas que simbolizan unión, cultura y progreso."
