Español: Escudo de Chillán Viejo: Su diseño tiene la característica de ser Entado en Punta, esto es, se encuentra dividido en tres partes, las dos primeras iguales separadas por una línea vertical terminada en curva a diestra y siniestra, y la última mantelada en punta, leyéndose como sigue: Gules, una banda de oro, que es de Amunátegui; Azur, un león de oro rampante y en jefe diestro una estrella de oro, que es de Ortiz de Rozas, y Sable, tres torres de plata, que es de O`Higgins. Como homenaje a los fundadores del antiguo Fuerte de San Bartolomé de Chillán, lleva por timbre o corona, una muralla realzada de ocho torres interpoladas de garitas, de las cuales 4 vistas, de oro, mazonada de sable y con saeteras en torres y garitas.En punta, lleva una cinta ondeante de oro con letras de sable, con la leyenda "Chillán Viejo" [1] |
