Summary
[edit | edit source]Photograph of horse-drawn coach on Dunmail Raise, Cumbria. Reproduction of a postcard photograph, by an unknown photographer, tinted, published by The Art Publishing Co., Glasgow. Cropped version of image, advertising postcard for sale, at http://uk.ebid.net/
This is a straightforward reproduction of a two-dimensional work of art. The photograph is known to have been taken before 1905 and on these grounds is believed to be out of copyright while the scanning of such works of art is not held, in and of itself, to be creative or subject to copyright. Further, since the image is a reproduction of a reproduction printed en masse, it is not believed to devalue the original work.
