| Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | This screenshot is of a substitute trophy that was used in place of Australia's oldest (and oldest outside of North America) ice hockey trophy in the year 1995. The Trophy was destroyed shortly after it was awarded and no known images of it exist. This is part of the documenting of an ice hockey trophy that has existed since at least 1911.
This illustration supports the year this "mock trophy" was used in the place of the Goodall Cup and mainly what it looked like. It is an important part of Australia's national sporting history to know that the historic trophy was missing from the 1995 tournament and substituted with a generic trophy that was awarded to the winning state in a national tournament. This is also of international interest considering the Goodall Cup currently resides in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto Canada. |
