Wiki Loves Pride 2025 is a global campaign to expand and improve LGBTQ-related content across all Wikimedia projects, organized by Wikimedia LGBTQ+. It takes place throughout the entire month of June in celebration of the International LGBTQ Pride Day. This event is connected to Wiki Loves Pride 2025 at Wikimedia Meta.
How to participate

- You will need a Wikimedia username. If you don't have an account yet, you can create it here.
- Once you have an account, please register yourself at the top of this page, by clicking the blue button "Register for event".
- Edit Wikipedia creating, translating, or improving LGBTQ+ related content. If you need help, you can check these resources
- Upload your Pride and LGBTQ+ pictures at Wikimedia Commons here
- Add your created or improved articles to the following page in order to be scored: Event:Wiki Loves Pride/2025/Created articles

Wikipedia contest rules and scoring
[edit | edit source]This contest will award points to creations, improvements and translations of articles that meet the following requirements:
- It must be related to LGBTQ issues.
- It must be created or extended from 00:00 UTC on June 1 until 23:59 UTC on June 30.
- It must have a minimum length of 300 words. For expanded articles, the minimum extension length is also 300 words.
- If it is a translation, it must not be a machine or faulty translation. You must also follow these guidelines.
- It must conform to the Wikipedia manual of style and the Wikiproject-specific style guide.
- There must be at least one reference for each paragraph. In the case of expansions, there must be at least one reference for each paragraph added.
- It must meet the standards of notability and verifiability.
- It must not infringe copyright.
- It should not include content generated by large language models (such as ChatGPT).
Scoring
- Each article created is worth 2 points. The articles created must have at least 5 references per article.
- Each translated article is worth 1 point.
- Each article improved by more than 300 words is worth 1 point.
- Each article has to be added to the following page in order to be scored: Event:Wiki Loves Pride/2025/Created articles

Prizes
[edit | edit source]Editors with the highest scores in the Wikipedia's contest will receive the following prizes. On Wikimedia Commons, the prize will be awarded to the best pictures uploaded according to a jury. We will announce winners in this page, and contact them via Wikimedia platforms at the end of the Wiki Loves Pride Campaign to award the prizes. If we do not hear back from them within one month, prizes will become vacant.
