To My Beloved Thief (KoreanLua error: Internal error: The interpreter exited with status 1.Lua error: Internal error: The interpreter exited with status 1.) is an upcoming South Korean television series written by Lee Sun, directed by Ham Young-geol, and starring Nam Ji-hyun, Moon Sang-min, Hong Min-gi, and Han So-eun. The series depicts a woman who becomes a righteous thief, and a man who loves solving crimes is chasing her as they swap bodies. It is scheduled to premiere on KBS2 on January 3, 2026, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 21:20 (KST).[2]

Synopsis

Hong Eun-jo, a noble-born with a slave mother, leads a double life as Hong Gil-dong, a righteous thief stealing from corrupt officials. Prince Yi Yeol, a detective enthusiast, searches for Gil-dong's true identity and falls for Eun-jo at first sight, transforming him into a determined man.

A female physician and thief, known as Hong Gil-dong in the shadows, leads a double life. A skilled healer by day at Hyeminseo, she treats the sick. A thief by night, she steals the granaries from corrupt officials to help her people, using her cunning to help them.
A really good-looking and tall prince, he loves having fun. He likes to solve crimes like a detective and tells stories about it to the palace people. They think he's just joking around, but actually, he's keeping everyone safe. Then he meets Gil-dong, a thief, and falls for her.

Development

To My Beloved Thief is written by Lee Sun, who won the Excellence Award at Studio Dragon's 2nd Drama Script Contest for the series in 2020. The series is directed by Ham Young-geol and produced by Studio Dragon.[1][2]

Casting

In October 2024, Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min were cast to star.[6]

Ha Seok-jin, Choi Won-young and Hong Min-gi were reportedly set to join the cast in April 2025.[1][4] On September 10, Han So-eun was cast.[7]

Filming

Principal photography began in March 2025, and was concluded in October.[8][9]
